Local boutique is selling masks to buy groceries for unemployed Showbox staff

Howard &Marge  in Burien has raised more than $4,000 to support those out of work.

JANUARY 30, 2021

The music community is among the industries hit the hardest by the global pandemic. Since we've had no live shows in Seattle since March 2020, unemployed staff of the Showbox have been struggling to make ends meet. The incredible folks at a local boutique in Burien saw an opportunity to help, and they ran with it.

Friends of the Showbox have partnered with Howard & Marge Boutique to help secure food for their staff who have been out of work for nearly a year. The shop is created a new Friends of the Showbox Mask made up of ticket stubs from this legendary Seattle venue, and so far they've raised more than $4,000 to purchase groceries for their employees.

The masks are $15, and 100% of the proceeds will buy food from local distributors Merlino's and Charlie's Produce to distribute to the unemployed staff of the venue.

The distribution of groceries will take place on Saturday, February 13th at Showbox SoDo.

Thanks for buying the Friends of the Showbox Mask and supporting the cause!
